Bloomfield Townhouse

Bloomfield Townhouse

The project converts a two-unit townhouse into a single-family residence in midtown Hoboken. Key structural interventions at the ground floor—including a new opening to the rear façade—introduce natural light deep into the plan and support a more open arrangement of the living, dining, and kitchen spaces.

Building systems are to be comprehensively upgraded, including new central ducted heating and cooling, and a tankless water heater for efficient on-demand hot water.

Existing plaster mouldings were retained and restored throughout. New joinery elements are expressed in contrast, using simplified forms and contemporary detailing to distinguish the old from the new.
