Bloomfield Townhouse

Bloomfield Townhouse

The Bloomfield Townhouse transforms a two-unit historic townhouse into a unified single-family residence in midtown Hoboken. The renovation carefully balances preservation with contemporary living, restoring the home’s historic character while introducing refined modern interventions tailored to a young family.

Structural steel beams were introduced at the rear extensions, allowing for expansive glazed doors and windows that bring natural light deep into the home and strengthen the connection to the garden. An enlarged skylight above the stairwell further enhances the interior, creating a brighter and more open circulation space. A new central HVAC system was integrated discreetly to improve comfort while preserving the townhouse’s intricate historic details.

Existing plaster moldings were carefully restored, while custom millwork introduces a contemporary layer through clean lines, natural materials, and precise detailing. The kitchen was reimagined as a high-performance gathering space with custom cabinetry, refined finishes, and all-electric appliances. A serene palette of blues and greens completes the home, creating a calm and timeless environment designed for modern family life.
